My blogs experience

For me blogs have been very entertaining, the themes have been varied and that makes them enjoyable. They are also a not so long writing job, although being in English complicates them I feel they do not take so long to do them.

Blogs are a good tool to go writing in English, they do not make the activity boring . Regarding my abilities I still feel that I must continue learning and practicing, but I think they have helped me.

I think that if there is something that should be improved and it is the feedback regarding what one writes. It should be faster to know what one was wrong at the time of writing to improve the problems that us are having.

For me the topics have been entertaining, but personally when I write about series or movies is when I like the most. Although also talking about personal issues can be good, that type of writing is a good personal activity, although I do not know how much we would want people to read that.

I think blogs are a good activity for the English course. They turn the bouquet a little more dynamic, it is not so much that a teacher exposes, rather it gives us the option to speak something that you like and when one talks about what he likes it is easier to work.

New voices

In Chile, education has a problem that goes from how it has been counted historically. Always in history is known from the winners and for us is not an exception, in Chile we know of history from the eyes of the Spanish, more specifically from the Spanish man.

In schools, it is always told from the perspective of the Spanish man, our history leaves aside the original peoples. When we talk about the Mapuches we talk about warrior people, but we do not really know their customs or history, rather we see them as people who dont wanted to modernize.

That's why we only see men at the moment they teach us, only men were the ones who spoke at the moment of telling the story and the women who appeared are always partner, rarely does history show them as protagonists.

That is why thanks to social movements in Chile is that they have begun to hear voices that were previously silent. The Mapuches, women, the LGBT community have been able to appear and begin to generate a space in our society.

That is why social movements have been so important, have come to break with an already established society and that has historically maintained negative behavior. For me, only social movements and people will be able to change this.

I hate this semester

This year has been very frustrating at the University, the classes have been very boring and none has encouraged me to study, so I can not choose any class that makes me say that I love it.

I like journalism, I see myself working as a journalist, but in my tastes about this career my favorite aria is written journalism, but radio or editing videos also amuse me.

But it should not be a surprise that I do not like the classes, this semester has very little written journalism and focuses more on classes like administration and management, where it is something I do not want to work as a journalist.

Another class that I detest is Digital Tools and Design, which really is an improvisation of the teacher, where even she can not make the whole class and we end up going before the class .

Finally the class that I should like, journalism culture, is the most disappointing. Class where I should be able to write works that I like ends up as a boring day because of a teacher who does not motivate me.  Leaving me as a result a semester that does not generate passion.

The "Pelao Pi"

One of my favorite shows as a child was the "7mo vicio", a program where cinema was talked about, one of the things I like most. The program passed through the Viax channel and is conducted by Gonzalo Frías, also known as "Pelao Pi". Although today I can not see the program, since it is not in Vtr, I still remember the program with love

For me Gonzalo Frías is a reference for audiovisual analysis, he has a particularity that he does not criticize, rather he recommends what he likes, which makes the program very pleasant, having a wide variety of audience (even my mother liked).

But Gonzalo Frias not only recommended you films in his program, but also  create documentaries, such as one called "Mondo Cane", in relation to the singer Mike Patton. On the other hand, he interviewed various characters, from Resident from Calle 13 to Directors like Nicolas Larrain.

My fanaticism reached such a point that I interviewed him, generating an opportunity to get to know him, being one of the jobs that he enjoys the most, since it was very pleasant and we talked a lot, having to me the opportunity to meet an idol.

I cried a river

"Space Odyssey" and "up" are probably my favorites movies, but recently i saw a series that I love, it made me cry from beginning to end , this series is called "River".

"River" is about an English detective who in 6 chapters, each one  hour long, musy solve the death of his former partner, whom he secretly loves and could never say.

But the problems of River are not only discovering the murderer, the detective also suffers from schizophrenia, which is why he sees and hears people, including his former partner.

River also has many scenes of suspense and drama that are excellent. But there is something that comes out, the song I love to love, from Tina Charles, wich one accompanies much of the series.

Every time we see the River character with that song, it breaks our heart, shows us how he could never express and love his ex-partner, and every time he sings, he tries to release his feelings for her.

The rage of Ali

I dont like the boxing, but i like the movies and series about that. The esthetic for my are beautiful, and for that I love Muhammad Ali and all he represent.

For those who do not know Ali was a political figure of great impact in the United States. He fought for the rights of people of color, like him, and he professed Islam.

Her fight against foreman is so famous. A lot of Americans hated him. When he was going to fight everyone was expected and they thought he would lose. But it was the opposite, Ali would win and I would get one of his most memorable photos.

Which for me is iconic and I think it is spectacular, because it reflects an rage on Ali's part, an anger that at seeing feels and shows against everything I was fighting. He not only fought for him, he fought for his people and his religion, he fought against the United States.

The laboratory was only for boys

The cartoon network series were my favorite series of children. But there was one that exceeded my favoritism. Dexter's lab was the one I liked the most at that time.
Today I remember her with nostalgia, but now that I see her I find something undeniable, dexter's laboratory showed gender stereotypes, making clear an idea that boys were most intelligent over girls.
Dexter was a child genius and his series showed that laboratories and discoveries could only be made by a man. Dee Dee, dexter's sister, was the opposite, a girl who wore pink and the series showed her in a somewhat clumsy way. Every time he entered the laboratory she only destruction.
What he showed was something that even today continues, the idea that science is male and that the entry of women into this field is so dificult.
This is how the series was responsible for generating stereotypes, showing the delicate woman. On the other hand, the child was gray and intellectual, because apparently according to Dexter, only children could be scientists.
